Coterie Press Limited was established in 1996 by two lifelong Lotus and motor racing enthusiasts with the objective of publishing it's first book 'The Lotus Book' in time for the 50th anniversary of Lotus in 1998.
The aim of the book was to tell the complete history of Lotus through new and unseen photography, along with brief but informative text, all presented in colour, in a clear and simple style. The success of this first publication has led to several other wonderful books on the Lotus marque & other historic marques as well.
The Coterie philosophy is to publish the highest quality automotive books, books that have the best content, & at a sensible price.
Coterie Press aim is to give the reader something different, mixing new visual material with not only top quality, but hitherto unseen archive material, backed up by the best research, writing & design.
Not for Coterie the poor quality black & white photo books of out of focus images gathered from other publications, or over priced over designed books printed with three languages on the same page that the real enthusiasts can't afford.
Coterie hope is to produce books that inform, educate & enthuse the real car people the world over.
Above all else though, Coterie Press hopes never loose sight of its objective, to produce the best books they can while still remembering to give the people what they want.
AYRTON SENNA: The Team Lotus Years by Johnny Tipler first published in 2005 in the UK by Coterie Press.

AYRTON SENNA: The Team Lotus Years by Johnny Tipler first published in 2005 in the UK by Coterie Press. This unique & outstanding book provides an insight into the last competitive years of Team Lotus. It is an accurate account of the contribution made to that era by Ayrton Senna.
Senna was a triple world champion. The great racing driver, he made good decisions, had excellent technical knowledge, galvanized a team around himself, & was peerless on qualifying tyres. He was "very quick & wet, never compromised." His abilities enable Ayrton to dominate every Formula he raced in. His real glory came when he took the world title after leaving Team Lotus (1986-1987). It was one of the headiest periods in the history of motor racing.
Johnny Tipler interviewed many of the people involved in F1 at the time & with Team Lotus, & without exception they were keen to discuss Senna's tenture...
Johnny Tipler is a motoring writer with more than 30 books published on a different topics. He has freelanced for several leading motor sport & classic cars magazines, including 911 & Porsche World, & been deputy editor of On Four Wheels,Restoring Classic Cars& sub-editor on Car Week...
